Alfredo Pasta with Asparagus and Ham
This is my "go to" pasta. Everyone likes it, even the rascals.
2 Tblsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced/pressed
2 Cups heavy cream (more or less according to how saucy your mood is)
Salt and Pepper
1/3 Cups grated parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
1 Box Rotini Pasta (serves 8)
2 Bunches asparagus, end trimmed, and stalks cut into one inch pieces
5 Thick slices of ham, cut into strips
Heat Olive oil in heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and swirl in oil for 30 seconds. Add cream, cheese, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir occasional until slightly thickened-3-4 minutes, set aside.
Boil pasta according to directions.
Add ham strips to a heated skillet. Stir constantly until the ham begins to brown. Add asparagus pieces and stir occasionally until tender-crisp.
Combine, sauce, ham mixture and pasta. Serve hot, topped with cheese.

This looks yummy! Anything with pasta and cheese is a hit at my house!
I am scared of ham but I am going to try it.
It looks like you used the green can Parmesan--is that true? If so, it is brilliant b/c I hate grating cheese--so boring :)
Angelita---it is not true, I'm sorry. But I also did not bore myself with grating. I bought the pre-grated in the clear plastic container.
AnnDee, I am scared of ham, too. Pigs don't sweat you know.
Made this tonight...it was fantastic. We will be going to this pasta again and again. :)
This is awesome. It's officially on rotation at our house.
